About the taluka
Pune City taluka covers the main city of Pune. It includes the old peths around Shaniwar Wada, the Cantonment areas built in British times and the newer parts of the city that have grown in every direction.
Known for
- Its history as the seat of the Peshwas.
- Education: the city is often called the Oxford of the East.
- IT, automobile and manufacturing industries, and a large student population.
