About the taluka
Pimpri Chinchwad grew from a group of villages into a large industrial city after the 1960s, when big factories were set up here. It is run by its own Municipal Corporation and is a separate city taluka.
Known for
- Automobile and engineering industries, and the Bhosari industrial area.
- Planned townships at Nigdi, Akurdi and Pradhikaran.
- The Morya Gosavi temple at Chinchwad, linked with the saint Morya Gosavi, a great devotee of Ganesh.
