About
Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani are just outside Pune district, in Satara district. Mahabaleshwar was the summer capital of the Bombay Presidency in British times. The Krishna river rises here.

- Viewpoints such as Arthur's Seat, Wilson Point and Kate's Point.
- Venna lake and the old Mahabaleshwar temple.
- Pratapgad fort, a UNESCO World Heritage fort since 2025.
- Table Land at Panchgani, and strawberry farms in winter.
How to reach
Drive via the Pune Bengaluru highway and Wai, or take an ST bus from Swargate.

- Heavy rain closes many points in the monsoon.
- Strawberries are in season from about December to March.
