About
Bhigwan lies on the Pune Solapur highway, on the backwaters of the Ujani dam. In winter large flocks of flamingos and many other water birds come here, and local fishermen take visitors out by boat to see them.

How to reach
Drive on the Pune Solapur highway to Bhigwan, then on to Kumbhargaon or Diksal for the boats.
Tips
- Go very early in the morning for the best light and the most birds.
- Bird numbers change every year with the water level.
- Carry binoculars and keep your voice low near the birds.
