History
Peshwe Park, also called Peshwe Udyan, lies next to Saras Baug at the foot of Parvati. It is named after the Peshwas, who owned the Parvati area. The land was once part of a lake. For many years it was Pune's zoo, and generations of Punekars remember seeing animals here for the first time. The animals were later moved to the larger zoo at Katraj.
