History
In the nineteenth century the philanthropist Sir Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy paid for a bund, a small dam, across the river here, so that the poor in this part of the town had water through the dry season. The garden that grew up beside the bund became known as Bund Garden. It is now officially called Mahatma Gandhi Udyan.
