Nana Peth is named after Nana Phadnavis, the minister who ran the affairs of the Peshwa state in the late eighteenth century.
Known for today
- Every year the palkhi of Sant Tukaram halts at the Vithoba temple in Nana Peth, while that of Sant Dnyaneshwar halts nearby in Bhavani Peth.
