History
Bhausaheb Rangari was a doctor in the old city. His public Ganesh is remembered as one of the very first public mandals of Pune, from the early 1890s. The mandal's old wada is still used today.
The idol
The idol shows Ganesh in a fighting pose, killing a demon. It is very different from the calm, seated Ganesh seen in most pandals, and has been kept in the same form for generations.
How to reach
The mandal is in Budhwar Peth, close to Dagdusheth Ganpati and the other old city mandals.
