A senior delegation of the World Bank Group visited the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Thursday, 23 October 2026, and met Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishor Ram and senior civic officials. The team was led by Mara Warwick, Regional Practice Director (Water) of the World Bank.
Praise for PMC's approach
The delegation appreciated the integrated way in which PMC is building water supply, sewerage and storm water drainage across the city and in the villages recently merged into the corporation. It noted that this planned approach is important for giving Punekars better civic services.

The World Bank team included William Rex, Practice Director (Water), Nuru Lama of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Harsh Goyal and Neeraj Gupta, who lead the MUWREP project for the World Bank and IFC. From PMC, Additional Commissioners Pavneet Kaur and Omprakash Diwate, City Engineer Aniruddha Pawaskar, Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Ulka Kalaskar, and the chief engineers for water supply, projects and roads took part.
Both sides said they would keep working together so that Pune's citizens get reliable, fair and sustainable civic services.
