Free Foodgrains for Ration Card Holders in 10 Drought-Hit Talukas of Pune District

Eligible families in 10 drought-hit talukas of Pune district will get free foodgrains as part of the state government's drought relief measures, the district supply office has said.

The state has declared drought in 304 talukas for the 2026 kharif season because of poor rainfall from June to September.

Who can get it

• Families covered under the National Food Security Act, 2013.
• Families in the drought-hit talukas who are not covered yet may be added under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana or Priority Household categories, depending on income limits and quota.
• Families who have moved to another place for work or water can also collect their share.

How to collect

• Go to any convenient fair-price (ration) shop, under the One Nation, One Ration Card facility.
• Grains are given after a fingerprint check on the shop's e-PoS machine.
• Make sure Aadhaar is linked for all members on the ration card.
