Rahul Kanwal Wins TV Anchor of the Year Honour at IAA Leadership Awards 2019

MUMBAI, July 29 — Rahul Kanwal, the leading face of Indian news television and News Director, TVTN won the “TV Anchor of the Year” honour at the prestigious International Advertising Association (IAA) Leadership Awards.

He received the award at a gala ceremony in Mumbai packed with high-profile corporate executives and media professionals.


The IAA Leadership Awards recognize professional excellence in marketing, advertising and media sectors. They are given annually to individual professionals for delivering exceptional success to their companies.

The winners are decided after a rigorous process involving data scrutiny, short-listing and final selection of by an erudite jury of senior industry leaders.

Rahul Kanwal leads newsgathering and operational efforts of the India Today network, managing a crack team of over 500 multi-platform journalists. He hosts Newstrack, India Today TV’s flagship prime-time broadcast, and Jab We Met, the popular weekend interview show.

A self-described intrapreneur, Rahul Kanwal has launched a range of initiatives at the India Today Group, such as the Data Intelligence Unit (DIU), the Anti-Fake News War-Room (AFWA) and an Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) desk.



The IAA Leadership’s “TV Anchor of the Year” honour adds to his diverse collection of accolades, which include seven Exchange4media News Broadcasting Awards, two Indian Television Academy Awards and four News Television Awards.
