History
Mahadji Shinde was one of the most powerful Maratha generals of the eighteenth century. He built a Shiva temple at this place, and he died in Pune in 1794. Later the Shinde family of Gwalior built a memorial hall, the chhatri, in his honour next to the temple.

Shinde Chhatri is in Wanowrie, not far from Fatima Nagar and the Race Course. Autos are the easiest way.
