India, 15 February 2022: Jaro Education, a leading Edtech firm imparting high-quality executive education programs to working professionals from top reputed institutes across the world, has announced its marketing budget spend of over INR 100 crores for the fiscal year 2022-23. The budget will be allocated to the acquisition of learners across the globe, enhancing corporate offerings, expanding program portfolios, and brand awareness activities.

From March 2021 to February 2022, Jaro’s CMO and marketing leaders polled 20-25% of the company’s funds in PR initiatives, building brand equity for its digital marketing through Facebook, YouTube, and other channels; tracking and participating in crucial marketing activities through investment in people, programs, and platforms. The marketing budget for the coming fiscal year will be allocated in the following manner wherein, 30% will be for marketing on the acquisition of learners across countries like USA, UK, Gulf, 20% PR initiatives, 30% for online and offline advertisements, and remaining for other activities such as influencer marketing, other endorsements.

Speaking on this marketing budget allocation, Ms. Ranjita Raman, CEO at Jaro Education said, “We at Jaro are very prompt at acing our marketing game. The Indian Edtech industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 39.77%, being one of the oldest and self-funded executive education companies, we aim to grow multi-folds and increase our market share by 3x. We also look forward to strengthening and expanding our marketing team through this budget allocation. Now that Jaro Education will eventually expand globally we are focused on building a strong marketing strategy.”

While marketing still accounts for more than 40% percent of the entire spend, it will remain a top priority. Marketing data and analytics will continue to be a priority for CMOs. Given recent and impending budgetary regulations as well as differences in data gathering, we anticipate this investment sector to remain a key capability. According to The annual Gartner CMO Spend Survey, 2021 revealed that no one, regardless of company size or industry, has escaped swingeing cuts in marketing budgets.

Taking its promise of care forward, AstraZeneca India has joined hands with the ‘Make-A-Wish’ Foundation India to fulfill the wishes of about 500 children suffering from critical ailments across the country. The event organized in the city today marked the beginning of a series of 11 events planned across Goa, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Baroda in an effort to reach out as many children between the age of 3 to 18 years as possible and leave them with joyous memories. It is nothing less than an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and brings smiles to the faces of children dealing with life-threatening diseases. This initiative is a small gesture to deliver a burst of laughter for a moment to children.” Highlighting the organization’s focus on patient-centricity Dr. Kukreja added, “Our partnership with Make-A-Wish is an extension of two of our marquee campaigns Ganga Godavari initiative and New Normal Same Cancer (NNSC) where we are working with multiple influencers to organize camps across the country to encourage preventive healthcare check-ups to aid early diagnosis of cancer. Our parallel focus through the two campaigns is to enable adherence and continuity of cancer treatment”.

One of the happy parents at the event said, “Our heartfelt gratitude to Make-A-Wish India and AstraZeneca for showering their love and support to our child. India, Tuesday, August 10, 2021 —  Whatfix, a leader in Digital Adoption Solutions (“DAS”), today announced the acquisition of Nittio Learn, a learning management system, amid a groundbreaking quarter.

The acquisition will advance the company’s application training capability by making learning more personalized, adaptive, and rich. Nitto Learn’s toolset including additional content options, assessment capabilities, and training course allocation is a natural fit with Whatfix, making it a comprehensive digital adoption platform for organizations. New learners will now experience a drastically reduced ramp-up time for learning, which is the core value Whatfix provides.

“The business shift to remote work over the last year has solidified the importance of employee adoption of the enterprise technology stack, as larger and more permanent segments of workers connect to the workplace through software exclusively,” said Khadim Batti, CEO and co-founder of Whatfix. “We’re delighted to get Nittio Learn onboard on our journey to provide our customers with all the necessary tools to execute such a massive digital transformation effort. We are continuously reimagining Digital Adoption alongside our customers as we grow and expand into new markets over the next year and beyond.”

This acquisition comes on the heels of Whatfix’s most successful quarter to date, achieving quarterly growth of 100% on a YoY basis for the past 2 consecutive quarters. Other milestones include closing new partnerships and enterprise customers, securing series D funding, earning recognition from top analyst firms, and winning several industry awards.

“We’re excited to add Nittio Learn’s value proposition to Whatfix’s industry-leading digital adoption solution,” said Gagandeep Josan, CEO & Co-founder, Nittio Learn, a Upekkha backed start-up. “Nitto Learn has been helping Learning & Development teams build learning experiences that reduce training turn-around and ramp-up time for today’s digital workers. Whatfix, with their laser focus on helping customers overcome technology complexities is a perfect match for our product and our team.”

Nitto Learn is used by South Asia’s largest e-commerce and retail companies to train their employees. The co-founders Gagandeep and Aravindan along with their team have joined Whatfix, bringing in their rich expertise in the learning domain.

The recent $90 million Series D funding round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 also touted a 3X increase of Whatfix’s valuation over 15 months, along with a 3X of revenue and headcount increase over the last two years. With the opening of three new offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia, Whatfix now has 500 employees across six offices globally.

The momentum has not gone unnoticed in the industry. Whatfix has grown its partner program by over 8 partners this year, announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft, and added notable new customers such as Red Cross Netherlands, Coca Cola Beverages Africa, Mr. Price Group, Messer Americas, Grant Thornton, and others including multiple Fortune 500 companies.

In addition, Whatfix garnered nine award wins so far in 2021, recognizing the company’s achievements in customer satisfaction and service, as well as technology innovation. India, 1st July 2021: Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL), a leading emerging markets company and InnerHour, a digital mental health platform, have come together to offer a Mind Care+ programme for healthcare professionals. Supported by GCPL CSR, through this initiative InnerHour will reach out to a cross-section of over 5 million doctors, nurses and frontline healthcare professionals

(HCPs) to help them cope with the stress, anxiety and depression compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic.

HCPs have been at the forefront in the battle against COVID-19. The higher risks of infections amongst HCPs, coupled with a sense of duty towards patients and the need to protect loved ones, has resulted in increased susceptibility to mental health conditions. As per the Indian Medical Association, at least 40% of doctors were infected with COVID-19, with over 1,000 having succumbed since April 2020. In this context, HCPs are at increased risk of mental health disorders like addiction, insomnia, stress, anxiety and depression. To support HCPs in their efforts against the pandemic through effective management and counsel, Mind Care+ will provide pro-bono therapy sessions beginning July 2021.

India was struggling with a mental health crisis even prior to the pandemic. According to the WHO, 1 in 4 individuals across the globe suffers from mental disorders. In India, we have over 200 million individuals who are affected by mental health concerns of varying severity. The situation has been further aggravated due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. InnerHour fulfils the need-gap in an environment where expressing one’s emotional distress is looked down upon. Individuals can seek assistance through a set of self-help tools combined with on-call therapy in complete privacy.

Through its app-based platform, InnerHour offers free assessments, a range of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Tools (CBTs), personalized content, and 1-1 support to individuals. In addition to the digital self-help tools, users can access a network of 120+ highly qualified and experienced therapists across 150 cities in India.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr Amit Malik, Founder & CEO of, InnerHour said, “The platform is designed to bridge the access and treatment gap for Indians struggling with mental health challenges like stress, anxiety, depression, grief and trauma. Due to the pandemic, healthcare professionals are working tirelessly and under tremendous pressure to provide critical care to COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients. With Mind Care+ we are committed to supporting our peer healthcare professionals with self-help tools and remote counselling services.”

Our hearts go out to professionals who have been affected directly. This initiative is extending our employee assistance programme to healthcare professionals in India to help them seek therapy to address burnout, post-traumatic stress, and anxiety.”

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) through its CSR efforts has been supporting the public healthcare system actively over the last year. GCPL has procured and delivered medical supplies, equipment, oxygen concentrators, sanitation supplies, and protective gear to hospitals across India. MUMBAI, India—June 29, 2021—Today, Amazon Web Services, (AWS), an Amazon.com company, announced that Axis Bank, India’s third-largest private sector bank, has selected AWS to accelerate its digital transformation program and meet the growing demand for its digital banking services. As part of a multi-year agreement, Axis Bank will draw on the breadth and depth of AWS services, including containers, database, and compute, to build a portfolio of new digital financial services to bring advanced banking experiences to customers, including online accounts that can be opened in under six minutes and instant digital payments, helping the bank increase customer satisfaction by 35% and lower costs by 24%. To date, Axis Bank has deployed over 25 mission-critical applications on AWS, including a Buy Now Pay Later product and a new loan management system to support it, Account Aggregator, Video-Know Your Customer (V-KYC), and WhatsApp Banking. Axis Bank also plans to migrate 70% of its on-premises data center infrastructure in the next 24 months to further reduce cost, improve agility, and improve customer experience.

Axis Bank has over 200 million customers who increasingly demand new and innovative digital banking services, including digital deposits, digital loans, and digital credit cards, to better manage their finances. To serve these consumers’ needs and provide new financial services digitally, Axis Bank relies on the scalability, resiliency, and agility of AWS to bring new services to market quickly while maintaining a seamless, excellent customer experience. Using Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), which gives customers the flexibility to start, run, and scale Kubernetes applications on AWS or on-premises, Axis Bank built new digital banking products using microservices that support any application architecture, irrespective of scale, load, or complexity. For example, the bank has built fully digital offerings which include its LEAP savings account with a virtual debit card, its NOVA online current account, and OLIVE, its credit card engagement platform, which has serviced more than 3.5 million users since its launch less than two months ago. Using Amazon DocumentDB, a durable, scalable, highly available, and fully managed document database service, Axis Bank runs secure financial transaction processing across its digital bank accounts. Using Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), a web service that provides secure, resizable compute capacity in the cloud, Axis Bank will scale workloads on-demand to support 10 million daily real-time payments through India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI), ensuring reliability and consistent performance. Last year, Axis Bank made the decision to deploy all new customer-facing applications on AWS. Today, 15% of the bank’s applications are already on the cloud, and the bank aims to take this number to 70% in three years.

Axis Bank believes building a cloud-native, design-centric engineering capability is critical to its success. To achieve this, the bank has dedicated over 800 people to its digital projects, built an in-house engineering and design team of more than 130 people, and established a cloud engineering practice centered on agile software development and DevOps principles. Working with AWS Professional Services, a global team of AWS experts who help customers achieve their desired outcomes with the cloud, Axis Bank has set up a cloud center of excellence to accelerate its cloud migration and set the digital foundation for innovating new services, while meeting strict governance, security, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Subrat Mohanty, Group Executive, Axis Bank

Commenting on this alliance, Subrat Mohanty, Group Executive, Axis Bank said, “Axis Bank is designing new products, crafting digital journeys, and personalizing its services to address the financial needs of its customers better. We continue to anticipate future trends and make investments ahead of time within our technology stack. We believe AWS will enhance our agility and resilience to manage two key features that define our digital business – rapid scale and high velocity. We aim to transition 70% of our infrastructure and applications on the cloud.”

“Cloud is transforming the financial industry and we are delighted to help Axis Bank build and grow a suite of digital banking services that evolve with technology changes, introduce new payment modes, and support evolving consumer and business needs in India,” said Puneet Chandok, President, Commercial Business, AWS India and South Asia, AISPL. “By selecting AWS as their preferred cloud provider, Axis Bank gains access to the deepest and broadest suite of cloud services to rapidly innovate and introduce new financial services ranging from easy account opening, digital lending, and instant payments for customers and businesses.”

About Amazon Web Services

For over 15 years, Amazon Web Services has been the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud offering. AWS has been continually expanding its services to support virtually any cloud workload, and it now has more than 200 fully featured services for computing, storage, databases, networking, analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), mobile, security, hybrid, virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR), media, and application development, deployment, and management from 81 Availability Zones within 25 geographic regions, with announced plans for 21 more Availability Zones and seven more AWS Regions in Australia, India, Indonesia, Israel, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates. Millions of customers—including the fastest-growing startups, largest enterprises, and leading government agencies—trust AWS to power their infrastructure, become more agile, and lower costs. NEW DELHI, 20 June 2021: The World Health Organization today called upon countries in WHO South-East Asia Region to scale up and rigorously implement public health and social measures, along with efforts to accelerate vaccination for COVID-19, to prevent another surge, as more countries confirmed the prevalence of highly transmissible variants of concerns.

“We need to continuously strengthen our efforts to test, trace and isolate. Societal interventions such as physical distancing, hand hygiene, and proper wearing of masks need to be stringently implemented. These measures should be in full force and for longer periods in areas reporting more transmissible variants of concerns,” said Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director, WHO South-East Asia.

The public health and social measures are a wide range of nonpharmaceutical interventions, both individual and societal, and are cost-effective measures to reduce the spread of SARS-CoV-2, and save lives.

In addition to personal protective measures, they include cleaning, disinfection, ventilation, surveillance. Contact tracing, isolation, and quarantine. Physical distancing measures such as limiting the size of gatherings, maintaining distance in public or workplaces, domestic movement restrictions; and international travel-related measures.

“These measures are critical for preventing infections, reducing transmission, and saving lives”, the Regional Director said.

Even as countries scale up vaccination against COVID-19, they need to implement public health and social measures in a tailored and agile way, she said.

A risk-based approach is needed for public health and social measures. These measures should be implemented by the lowest administrative level and continuously adjusted to the intensity of transmission and the capacity of health systems.

The capacity of the health systems includes both clinical care for COVID-19 and non-COVID-19, and public health services such as case detection, diagnostic testing, contact tracing. The risk assessment should measure both the actual ability to deliver services, and the performance of those services, Dr. Khetrapal Singh said.

“Where more transmissible Variants of Concern are spreading, these measures need to be applied more stringently and for longer periods,” the Regional Director said.

Earlier this week Maldives and Myanmar confirmed transmission of Variants of Concern. Earlier, Variants of Concern have been confirmed in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Timor-Leste.

The Variants of Concern, along with the opening of economies and societies, contributed to the recent surge in cases globally.

Countries across the world are currently at different phases in the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic and face varying epidemiological situations. Though the Region is now witnessing an overall decline in cases, mainly due to decreasing cases reported in India, in some other countries the cases are still increasing.

“We must not forget that the pandemic is still around. We must guard against complacency, at any level. We must continue to implement combinations of public health and social measures until globally there high COVID-19 vaccine coverage among health workers, and high-risk and vulnerable groups,” the Regional Director said.

FedEx Express Donates To Environmental NGOs Chosen By Team Members

India, Pune, June 3, 2021 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, has announced it will donate $50,000 USD each to sustainability-focused projects in India and Africa.

As part of the FedEx Priority Earth Global Grant Program, thousands of FedEx team members selected 12 nonprofits from across the six international regions in which FedEx operates. Each is awarded a $50,000 USD grant, for a total FedEx investment of $600,000 USD toward green solutions:

“FedEx has set ambitious goals to reduce our footprint where we have the greatest environmental impact. Working alongside nonprofits and investing in their efforts is a critical part of the company’s strategy to drive the action and innovation needed to make a difference in our world,” said Jack Muhs, regional president for the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, and Africa.

United Way Mumbai supports multiple environmental sustainability projects, including urban afforestation, protecting mangroves, and watershed development. Their programs support the efforts of local civic bodies and involve community members in environmental protection.

“The support from FedEx will help United Way Mumbai plant and maintain mangrove saplings in degraded wetlands in Mumbai. It will also support efforts to clean and maintain our beaches and reduce marine pollution. We are grateful for this support and know that it will contribute to lasting change in our communities,” said George Aikara, CEO, United Way Mumbai.

Solar Sister supports the environment through the creation of green energy and women-driven businesses that provide power in areas that still do not have electricity. Funding will provide a comprehensive package of support, training, and services to create a larger network of women to bring clean energy technology to remote communities in rural Africa.

“We are so grateful to FedEx for sharing our values and our vision to create a lasting impact toward a sustainable future. Investing in women’s enterprise in off-grid communities is a key part of the solution to the clean energy challenge. The support from FedEx will help to scale our model to more communities in sub-Saharan Africa, multiplying the impact that we have on women entrepreneurs, their families, and their communities,” said Katherine Lucey, Founder, and CEO of Solar Sister, Inc.

This new investment as part of the Priority Earth Global Grant Program aligns with ongoing collaboration between FedEx and organizations that are leading the development of innovative solutions to address climate change. It follows the commitment FedEx made earlier this year to achieve carbon-neutral operations globally by 2040
