Chennai, 7 February 2022: With racing action coming to an end today at Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai, the 2021 season of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC) and IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup was filled with fun and experiencing new learnings for Honda Racing India riders across categories.

Starting the season on a high note, the experienced riders of the IDEMITSU Honda SK69 Racing team and millennial riders of the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup displayed exemplary performances on the racetrack.

The IDEMITSU Honda SK69 Racing team rounds-off ProStock 165cc class of 2021 INMRC with a total of 9 podiums. After clinching the third position in today’s race, Rajiv Sethu grabs the third position in the ProStock 165cc class of the national championship.

Displaying the true capabilities and power of the Moto3 machine in the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup NSF250R Open class, the 9 next-gen riders left no stone unturned in proving their mettle. Maintaining his calm throughout the season, Chennai’s Kavin Quintal has taken over the championship title followed by Pune’s Sarthak Chavan at second position and Valencherry’s Mohsin P at third.

Whereas, 12 of the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup CBR150R Novice class riders rode on track with confidence and passion delivering some of the best races of 2021. With 158 points, Bokaro’s Prakash Kamat tops the 2021 IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup CBR150R Novice classThe Chennai duo of Rakshith S Dave and Theopaul Leander are placed second and third respectively on the championship tally.

Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC) – ProStock 165cc

Leading Honda’s charge in today’s finale race of Pro-Stock 165cc class of national championship was the ace rider Rajiv Sethu who remained consistent with his performance from start to finish, earning a third place on the podium with a difference of just 0.79 seconds with the nearest competitor. Recording the best lap of 1:56.030 in today’s race, Rajiv gave tough competition by putting up a strong fight till the end. Meanwhile, teammate Senthil Kumar closed the race in seventh place. It was an unfortunate day for Mathana Kumar who went back to the pit due to some technical glitch in his machine.

IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup – NSF 250R

The final race saw a repeat of the show by Sarthak Chavan, Kavin Quintal, and Mohsin P. Fighting for the podium win, 15-year-old Sarthak Chavan consistently maintained his pace till the chequered flag. The Pune youngster completed today’s race with a total time of 14:45.513 having a large difference of 8.502 seconds over Chennai’s Kavin Quintal who finished second. Valanchery’s Mohsin P too showcased his full potential and confirmed 3rd place on the podium, leaving behind Geoffrey R Emmanuel at 4th and Shyam Sundar at 5th. While Samuel Martin and Deepak S could not finish the race.

IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup – CBR150R

The young guns of the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup CBR150R Novice category showed their strong resilience in the final races of the season. It was a double 1-2 for Chennai’s Theopaul Leander and Uttur’s Siddesh Sawant as they finished race 2 and race 3 of CBR150R class at first and second places respectively. Whereas the 14-year-old Raheesh Khatri got third place in race 2, Patna’s Vivek Gaurav secured third place in race 3 of the category today.

Newly introduced Honda Hornet 2.0 One Make Race

Round 5 of the newly introduced Honda Hornet 2.0 One Make Race came to an end with some exciting performances by 15 veteran riders. The final race saw a three-way fight between Kevin Kannan, Ajai Xavier, and G Balaji till the last lap. Fighting fiercely for podium win, a contact between Ajai Xavier and Kevin Kannan in the last lap resulted in a crash for Kevin while Ajai Xavier went wide on the track. This made way for G Balaji who earned 1st position on the podium followed by Udayi Prakash and Shankar Guru on 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Chennai, August 4, 2019: Midway into the season, IDEMITSU Honda Racing India riders blazed their way to double victory in both PS 165 and PS201-300cc classes of Round 3 of MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship.

After hauling in victory in both PS165 and PS201-300 class yesterday, IDEMITSU Honda Racing India riders repeated their performance yet again with 5 more podiums including 2 victories. Grabbing 10 podiums including double wins by Rajiv in Pro-Stock 165 and Anish in Pro-Stock 201-300 in this round, IDEMITSU Honda Racing India now leads in all 3 standings (team, rider and manufacturer) in both classes now.

Sharing his thoughts on the rider’s performance , Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President – Brand and Communications, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “IDEMITSU Honda Racing India team has wrapped up Round 3 with double digit podiums. Rajiv snaps the win in last lap of PS 165cc race2, Sarath hauls in another podium finish

Despite his first position start in today’s PS 165cc race, Rajiv got pushed back to 5th position ending first lap itself. However, after crash of another rider in lap 3, Rajiv climbed up in hot pursuit of the lead rider. The next 5 laps saw him maintain his cool and shave off seconds with the leader. It was finally in the last lap that Rajiv’s smart maneouvre in last turn pushed him ahead and he finished first with total lap time of 16:07:022 – a mere 0.010 seconds ahead of Ahamed. Meanwhile, Sarath rounded up the podium for IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing team with this 3rd podium finish. With this Rajiv now leads the championship with 100 points, winning all 4 races he raced, and Sarath notches up the Top 3 spots with 93 points.

ProStock 201-300cc Honda Rider Anish Shetty

INMRC – ProStock 201-300cc

In its debut season in the ProStock 201-300cc class, the rider trio from IDEMISTU Honda Racing India team dominated the ranks for the 2nd day as well. Hubli boy Anish Shetty maintained his momentum in the race to finish 1st, stopping the clock at 16:13.776 and grabbing his third win in this class. Completing the podium were Bengaluru boy Abhishek V (2nd) and local boy Aravind B. (3rd).

IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup – NSF250R

Today’s 8 lap race saw Mikail notching his second win this season. The race saw multiple back and forths between Kritik Habib and Mikail and its was finally 15-year-old Mohd. Mikhail from Chennai overpowered Karnataka boy with a 3 second lead (Total lap time 14:48:615).Completing the podium was Kavin 3rd.

The IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup – NSF250R continues to accelerate the structural development of 8 handpicked young riders on the Moto3 race machine NSF250R.

IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup – CBR150R

The action packed race led by the Gen-next riders saw Samuel Martin, Lal Nunsanga and Deepak Kumar completing the podium. The Bengaluru boy, Samuel Martin fought neck to neck with Lal Nunsanga and took the first position with the clocking time of 00:13:15 and recording the best lap time of 2:10.152 seconds putting Mizoram boy Lal Nunsanga at the 2nd position. Following them was the Chennai boy Deepak Kumar securing the 3rd position.
